Most comprehensive and needed test equipment and measuring tools equip Jera’s laboratory in accordance to our wide production product range.

With the help of Jera’s highly experienced engineers and quality staff, we ensure our customers with confident and reliable low voltage insulated connectors and R&D services, which is related to various demands of customers. The success of our products from technical side, is based on our know-hows, which born from experience of huge routine tests and sufficient product knowledge.

Dielectrical Voltage Test In Water

Dielectrical voltage test in water other called Underwater electrical ageing test to measure of reliability low, middle and high voltage cable piercing connectors and its connectivity under the water.

Test simulates the weather condition of continuing rains and high humidity. Guarantee the high level of insulation of electrical connectors under the voltage, electrical loads. Simulates duration of usage.

Test usually concerns the low voltage insulated piercing connectors, insulated cable lugs, insulated end caps.

Test procedure consist of emerging insulated conductors into tank with water with high voltage. The voltage ratio and time have different values according to standards EN 50483-4:2009, NFC 33-020, DL/T 1190 – 2012 for electrical distribution accessories.

Critical are value of leakage of current, and flashovers.

Our test method based on CENELEC, EN 50483-4:2009, DL/T 1190 – 2012, NFC 33-020, and we use followings standards test criteria in routine quality tests and in production, in order our clients can have products that conforms to standards.

UV And Temperature Aging Test

UV and temperature aging test other called climate aging test to examine the quality of materials or products if they meet expected functionality and lifetime. This test simulates different weather conditions, such as high humidity, high UV-radiation and high temperature.

We proceed test on almost all the overhead cable products

Test chamber was preformed automatically, which can avoid human mistakes to make sure the the authenticity and precision of the experiment. Climatic aging test procedure involves put products into chamber with presetting humidity, UV radiation, temperature.

Test preformed by dozen of cycles of rising and falling mentioned criteria. Each cycle includes some hours of aggressive climatic conditions. All controlled by radiometer, thermometer etc. The radiation, temperature, humidity ratio and time have different values base on standards EN 50483-4:2009, NFC33-020, DL/T 1190-2012 for electrical distribution accessories.

Corrosion Aging Test

Corrosion aging test other called Salty chamber test. Test simulates different weather conditions, high humidity, aggressive corrosion, high temperature to assess the corrosion resistance of products or metal spare parts. This test help us to examine the quality of products or materials to make sure our product can be able to applied in different harsh climatic conditions.

We proceed this tests on below products

Test chamber was preformed automatically, which avoid human mistakes to make sure the authenticity and precision of the experiment. Test simulates near sea weather condition where has Corrosive ingredient: sodium chloride and it will damage the metal fittings. This test is one of most important for metal fittings, just like tension ball wires, and shells of tension clamps, metal parts.

Ultimate Tensile Strength Test

Ultimate tensile strength test other called maximal mechanical tensile test which used to measure the ability to withhold mechanical loads of products.

This is a mechanical test where a pulling force is applied to a material from both sides until the sample changes its shape or breaks. It's is a common and important test that provides a variety of information about the material being tested, including the elongation, yield point, tensile strength, and ultimate strength of the material.

Shear Head Torque Test

Shear head torque test other called shear head function test is used to examine the ability of shear head nut or bolts to withhold required mechanical loads.

Jera proceed tests on below products

-Insulation piercing connectors (IPC)

-OEM CNC related aluminum, brass and copper products

-Low, middle and high voltage shear head bolt lug.

Critical is the tolerance torque range N*m of products, under temperature raging.

In order to measure how the torque value will be reflected on electrical performance and duration of usage, we use the original cable applied with tested product. We proceed the shear head function test under different value of mechanical and thermal stresses according to standards for electrical distribution accessories.

Mechanical Impact test

Mechanical impact test(IMIT) other called mechanical shock test, the purpose of this test is to determine whether the product properties will be changed when the product is subjected to a series of impact at normal temperatures. Through this test we can examine our product’s stability during transportation or installation.

Impact testing is instantaneous and destructive, damage shouldn’t occur to affect the correct performance of product under temperature ranging. Product assemblies can be placed under test equipment and test for impact from the top and from side, by metallic place and anvil of different mass, Cylindrical weight falling freely through indicated distance and dash the tested products.

Low temperature assembly test

Low temperature assembly test used to examine the ability of connectors to have opportune electrical contact under low temperature. When product is exposed to a low temperature environment for a long time, the performance, function, quality, and life of the product may be affected. This requires low-temperature testing of the product to examine the product's resistance to low temperatures.

A qualified insulation piercing connector should have a stable electrical contact between conductors when under low temperature. We placed it into a frost chamber and tested its electrical contact when the torque of nut is fixing.

Electrical aging test

Electrical aging test is used to examine the ability of connectors to have opportune resistant value during temperature ranging cycles and electrical current.

Jera proceed test on below products

-Insulation piercing connectors(IPC)

-Low, middle and high voltage shear head bolt lug.

Two circuits of IPC mounted with main and branch conductors, Should be tested the resistance of electrical contact after indicated torque of nut, After direct current applied, temperature and resistance measurement points will be inspected. 1000 heat cycles are needed, periodically having short circuit. After 1000 cycles of heating and cooling the resistant valuation should be in accordance to electrical standard.

Galvanization thickness test

Steel hardware fittings are galvanized to have corrosion resistance on surface. It’s uses electrolysis to form a uniform, dense, well-bonded metal or alloy deposit on the surface of the workpiece. And measuring test of the thickness of galvanizing used to ensure the quality of zinc protection to ensure product has proper protection in different harsh weather conditions.

Material hardness test

Hardness measuring test is used to ensure that the products or material can resist mechanical impact during installation or use with other relevant products. It’s one of the important indexes to detect the properties of materials, hardness test can reflect the differences in chemical composition, tissue structure and treatment technology of materials.

The principal purpose of the hardness test is to determine the suitability of materials for a given application. Common materials such as steel, plastic, ribbon has its resistance to deformation, bending, tread quality, tension, piercing.

Fire resistance test

Fire resistance tests other called flame retardant test are used to ensure the fire safety of our products or materials and to measure their fire response requirements. It is necessary for us to do this test to check fire resistance, especially the products which need to be applied in extreme environments.

Temperature and Humidity Cycling Test

Temperature and humidity cycling test is used to test and determine the parameters and performance of products or materials through the changes of the temperature and humidity such as under high temperature and humidity or low temperature and humidity.

Environmental changes in things like temperature and humidity strongly influence material and product performance. We preform this test by immersing products or accessories in artificial environment, exposing products to extreme high temperature, gradually reducing to low temperature, and then returning to high temperature. This cycle can be repeated in the case of reliability testing or customers’ requirements.

The common test of standards are refer to IEC 60794-4-22, EN-50483:4, NFC-33-020, NFC-33-040.

We sell products to over 40 countries in the world, some countries have extreme high or low temperature, just like the Kuwait and the Russia. Also some countries have continuous rainfall and high humidity just like the Philippines. We must make sure that our products can be applied in different weather conditions and this test can be a good examination for products’ performance.

Testing chamber simulate the different weather conditions, the adjustable temperature range of the equipment is +70℃~-40℃ and humidity range is 0%~100%, which covers most rugged environment in the world. We also can control the rate of temperature or humidity’s rise and fall. The test’s requirement of temperature or humidity could be preseted to avoid human mistake and ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of the experiment.
