As low-voltage (LV) power distribution networks keep expanding globally, utility operators and EPC contractors demand cable tapping hardware combining mechanical safety, stable electrical performance and simple field installation. The ZOP-45P insulation piercing connector has become a preferred branch-connection option for insulated conductors, removing the need for cable stripping and lowering human-error risks during site work.
The ZOP-45P insulation piercing connector is engineered for secure branch connections within low-voltage overhead systems, widely applied in street lighting, overhead power lines and solar plant installations. Produced from high-grade polymer, brass and stainless-steel materials and validated through rigorous in-house laboratory testing, it delivers dependable field performance.
The ZOP-45P is manufactured by Jera Line as a mechanical insulation piercing connector built for creating branch connections on insulated conductors in low-voltage overhead power networks, covering main cables of 4–70 mm² and tap cables of 1.5–16 mm². It adopts torque-controlled shear-head technology: the shear-head nut breaks off automatically once the preset installation torque is reached. This mechanism creates consistent contact pressure on cable conductors without any stripping or compression equipment.
Installers only need to hand-tighten the shear-head nut until it breaks off, completing each tapping point in about 2–3 minutes without special tools. The tin-coated copper contact teeth pierce the cable insulation automatically to build a stable bimetal connection with both copper and aluminium conductors.
The connector body and seal are produced by heat- and UV-resistant two-component insert molding of composite polymer and elastomer, with stainless steel washers and UV-resistant polypropylene end caps ensuring long-term waterproof and anti-ageing performance. This design streamlines field work and reduces installation mistakes caused by improper tightening force.

The torque-controlled insulation piercing connector ZOP-45P is designed for tapping insulated conductors during low-voltage line construction, covering main cables of 4–70 mm² and tap cables of 1.5–16 mm².
It connects insulated conductors in overhead power lines, ensuring reliable and secure electrical connections. Its shear-head design eliminates compression-tool requirements, with the bolt head shearing off automatically to signal correct installation torque.
