Application

The ZOP-1 insulation piercing tap cable connector is engineered to provide reliable branching of low-voltage aerial bundle conductors to customer service lines. Its robust design incorporates fully insulated contact plates that ensure optimal conductivity while maintaining safety in live-line environments.

 

Overhead insulation piercing connector ZOP-1 enables efficient installation without stripping cable insulation, reduce the labor cost. The connector is used for utility overhead cable distribution networks, especially in urban or densely populated areas where live-line work is essential.

Aerial insulation Piercing Connector ZOP-1 is rigorously tested to ensure safe and reliable performance when branching low-voltage aerial bundle conductors on live lines.

The tests are according to international standard EN-50483:2009 in the third party laboratory, the test scopes are as following:

• Visual examination

• Dimensional and material verification

• Test for permanent marking

• Test for mechanical damage to the main conductor

• Branch cable pull-out test

• Connector bolt tightening test

• Shear head function test

• Low temperature impact test

• Dielectrical voltage test in water

• Low temperature assembly test

• Corrosion ageing test  (Method 1)

• Climatic ageing test (Method 1)

• Electrical ageing test

 

Jera Line also have a in-house  factory laboratory with different testing equipments.

Such as: 

Short-circuit overcurrent testing machine for Dielectric voltage test in water.

Temperature & Humidity aging equipment for UV and temperature aging test.
